Twin Loft Bed – Freedom Style

0 Reviews

This is our most common style Loft because of its strength, durability, and extra-long (XL) options.  Just two compact boxes, delivered via FedEx, provide you with everything you need to put up your new loft bed quickly (except a wrench and a screwdriver). The partial guardrail secures tightly to the front of the loft, and the pre-assembled end panels make assembly fast and easy. Like all of our Lofts and Bunks, this one is built to last a lifetime. A great space saver/space maker! The end panels can be used as a ladder or you can purchase a ladder for side or front access. This model favors front access, and the ladder will rest on either side if the front guard rail for smooth entry.

Solid Wood Loft Bed Frame

What’s So Great about This Loft Bed Frame Compared to Others?

We specialize in loftsbunks and futon bunks, and we offer models that are built with traditional yet sophisticated techniques to ensure superior strength and longevity.

The Freedom Loft is well liked because of its Solid  Construction and Ease of Shipping. Some of our other models, like the Spirit Loft, are a kit style loft (that means the end panels are put together by you) so they require a fair amount of assembly. The trade off is that they are slightly less expensive than other models. Comparatively, this loft bed is partially pre-assembled (the end panels are already in one piece when it arrives to you), so it can assembled quickly and easily. The layered construction makes this loft super strong and durable (the crossbars are built into the upright layers that make up the corner posts).

Like all of our loft options, you don’t need a ladder. Some people prefer a ladder, but the ends are definitely strong enough for repeated daily climbing. Older kids don’t seem to mind skipping a ladder, where littler kids seems to appreciate one on their tender feet. And, the loft alone can handle 1000 pounds, so we feel pretty confident it will hold up to the expected wear and tear.

In addition to a Regular Twin Size, it is offered in an Extra Long Size, giving you 80 Inches of length in the mattress area verses 75 like the regular twin. Tall people are always happy about this option, and of course we have Twin Extra Long Mattresses if you need them. Furthering the functionality and value, if in the future you need to convert from standard Twin to Twin XL (or vise versa), you can buy a conversion kit and you’d then have a re-usable loft bed in an alternate size without having to totally reinvest.

The Freedom Loft comes standard with a partial/half guard rail (see our Liberty Model if you prefer a full length guard rail)

This Loft Bed can be ordered Unfinished (with nothing at all applied to it), OR it can be ordered with a Water Based Stain in Golden Oak Color. Of course we use a LOW VOC, water-based stain, and the staining process will add some additional time to your order vs. unfinished.

(Any futon mattresses or covers shown in the images are NOT included for this price)

Mattress Considerations

We recommend using an 8 Inch mattress or less. The area that the mattress will drop into is approximately 12-13 Inches. To get the maximum effectiveness from the guard rail, you’ll want to be sure it will protrude above the mattress by 4-5 Inches. Basic style mattresses are usually 7-8 Inches high, and some people opt to use a futon mattress since they are commonly offered in that thickness (and the futon mattresses can be FedEx’d, where conventional mattresses usually cannot be).  You decide what’s best for you. A Bunkie board, box spring or foundation is not used for this loft; It comes with a 12-slat kit that drops right into the frame to support the mattress you choose.

NOTE: These are recommendations; you’ll want to decide what’s appropriate and comfortable for you
