Description
Solid Wood Futon Lounger Frame
What’s So Great about This Futon Frame Compared to Others?
This frame is called a Lounger, and unlike most futon frames, it is designed to utilize the length of a mattress verses the width, so you can easily squeeze it into compact spaces. It also sits a little higher off the ground than some of the economy futon frames, making it feel more like a recliner chair than a low to the ground futon. In addition, not many futon frames come in a Twin or Single Size (and if they do, they tend to be made of metal and uncomfortable).
Sizes Available
Futon loungers come in three sizes, Twin, Full and Queen. And for all of them, the mattress will run width-wise vs. lengthwise, saving you valuable floor space. The orientation of the mattress for this frame is similar to that of a trifold frame, where the short side of the mattress would be behind your shoulders and head versus the length.
*Price shown on main page is for Twin Size with Adirondack Armrest*
Twin Lounger = 38 Inches between the armrests, and will stretch out 75 Inches in length when fully opened
Full Lounger = 54 Inches between the armrests, and will stretch out 75 Inches in length when fully opened
Queen Lounger = 60 Inches between the armrests, and will stretch out 80 Inches in length when fully opened
All sizes will come out from the wall about 60 Inches when in seated lounger position and can be condensed to about 48 Inches if you choose to hang a portion of the mattress over the back. The foot extension (or foot rest portion) of the frame can be hidden in the seat deck for more daily floor space, giving this frame total versatility. It has three different backrest positions, three leg positions, and of course goes from upright chair, to lounge to bed with a simple shift.
This Lounger Futon Frame can be ordered Unfinished (with nothing at all applied to it), OR it can be ordered with a Water Based Stain in Golden Oak Color. Of course, we use a LOW VOC, water-based stain, and the staining process will add some additional time to your order vs. unfinished.
(Any futon mattresses or covers shown in the images are NOT included for this price)

Mattress Considerations
We recommend using and 8 Inch, 9 Inch or even 10 Inch Traditional Style Futon Mattress (Twin Size). Because the mattress has to be able to fold easily into three sections (like the frame does), an innerspring mattress or a very firm/dense mattress won’t work with this frame. The classic style futon mattresses seem to work best for this frame due to their natural flexibility. We recommend using an 8-Inch mattress if the use is infrequent, and the 9-Inch if used often. The 8 Inch will bend effortlessly, where the 9 Inch needs a little coaxing, but is plusher.
