Savvy Rest actually uses Organic Latex, and surrounding this Organic Latex is Organic Cotton and Organic Wool. There are No Toxic Offenders in this mattress at All! 100% Certified Organic!

What is Organic Latex?

Organic latex plays an important role in a bigger process. Organic latex is a type of rubber harvested from rubber trees, and one rubber tree can produce latex for up to 30 years. After the tree is done producing, it’s typically cut down and used to make furniture. That takes care of where it comes from, but what is it?

True natural latex, before any synthetic latex or fillers are blended in, is simply natural foam rubber. The two types of latex used in this mattress are Dunlop and Talalay. Dunlop, is the denser, more supportive of the two whereas Talalay offers softness and gentle pressure-relief.

The Serenity Mattress is Custom Built to have One of the Two Arrangements:
3 Layers of Dunlop (that’s the firmer latex) OR 1 Layer of Talalay with 2 Layers of Dunlop (for a softer feel)

This Mattress is Truly Organic, so the Dunlop Latex is certified in two ways: 1) the rubber tree plantations are certified organic according to USDA standards, and 2) its processing is certified organic to the Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS).

Dunlop is produced by extracting the rubber sap (or serum) and whipping it into a froth in a centrifuge. It’s then poured into a mold, covered and steam baked. The sediment that settles in this process is what makes the Dunlop have a firmer bottom. Talalay adds two steps to the process before the steam bake; first is a stop at the vacuum chamber, then a flash freeze. This is what makes Talalay have a more expansive quality, making it soft and airy.

Together, arranged in the combination you prefer, this mattress offer a superior organic product that simply can’t be beat. The comfort is amazing, and the whole thing is truly 100% Organic!

Organic Wool

Wool seems to be the most effective way to escape the use of a chemical fire retardant, and even better if the wool is certified to be organic. The organic wool batting is actually quilted into the inside of the organic cotton cover (and a strong brass zipper holds it all together).

Other Options to Consider

The Serenity is 10 inches thick, but it can also be ordered in a Pillow Top Style which is a luxurious 13 inches.

For something less high for children or petite adults, the Tranquility is offered with two layers of materials instead of three.
